Swagger Wagon OR Sports Car- ONE
I was waiting patiently in a car line to turn out of a parking lot yesterday and I saw something that made me laugh.
Out loud.
In my car.
Alone.
(I think other people tend to stare when this happens...)
Anyway- sitting right in front of me was a white van-with the word "sport" written in teal cursive just a hair above the word CARAVAN.
Dear Swagger Wagon driver,
FYI: A rear spoiler does NOT a sports car make. :)
WHO at the Dodge Car Co. decided..."Hey! I know, lets put a spoiler on the caraVAN and call it a "sport"!
I feel there is more than one person at fault here.
If you own a van (mini or otherwise) embrace it! They are great vehicles that serve the wonderful function of transporting many people at once. Much more fun than having to drive in two or more cars! :)
On the upside- it's the little things like this that make me laugh!
-"Peace and Blessins. Peace and Blessins"
(ha ha ha)
P.S.
If you do not know that "swagger wagon" and "peace and blessins" are from YouTube videos- you must come talk to me. I'll show ya the funny! :)

"Camping"
The fam when to Diamond Fork to spend a lil quality time bonding with nature, each other, and the various spiders, rocks, bats, snakes, voles, and mice...wait...that's only ME that isn't a fan...
Okay...let's try that again....
So, the REST of the fam took their tents, their 5th wheels, bikes, etc. up Diamond Fork Campground.
(Yours truly chose to go up and spend the day pretending she was a camper, and then snuck off with all the stealth of an inept ninja under the cover of night-and a little firelight- to head down the canyon to her NON-rock infested bed, and then snuck back up in the morning in time for breakfast... which is always yummy when "camping" by the way!)
There were stories told.
There were items broken.
A few things that are placed with positive accuracy in their proper
"will burn"
or
"will NOT burn"
categories.
There were new spaces explored.
There were old embarrassments re-lived
and new embarrassing moments created.
Some new games learned,
and LOTS of laughing!
I have to say- I love this clan! :)
LOL! (apparently I really like the shot with solar flare!)

"ME!"
Okay, so just a little somthin' for y'all while I'm processing pictures from Diamond Fork and the Cedar Fort Rodeo....
Coop is a funny little man...
His newest thing when he sees something he wants is
to yell "ME! ME!" until you give it to him.
I realize this isn't so cute as one gets older,
but for now...
well- just LOOK at that face and tell me you wouldn't be
willing to give him whatever he wanted! :)
Bring this monkey a banana the next time you see him and you've just made a new best friend! :)

We Missed it Wednesday... (AKA Summer Fun Monday)
We have been slackers of the worst kind this summer! I'm not even kiddin ya!
Every year Denise, Grandma Kay and I plan out Monday's for the kids. Sometimes
it's as simple as a day at the park, or it could involve a bit more planning.
The summer of 2010, however---LAME SAUCE! (as my friend Julie says!)
We finally decided to make up for missing this past Monday (though did we really- cuz it was B's birthday and we had a great day of fun??).
Today we took the short people to Nickelcade (now known as Nickle City)
where they could amass yellow tickets to their hearts content, and then, at the end of the day, trade them away for McDonald's toys at the counter.
Oh- and there was Laser Tag.
Laser Tag = F-U-N, my friends.
At first it was just Parker and Hunter who wanted to play, but when I asked the
guy in charge about it, he was kind enough to give me a little tour of the playing field. I came out and told everyone I had purchased their ticket, and they were playing too. (Cheep! $4 bucks/person)
Mom, Denise and I were on the BLUE team
Parker, Hunter and Brooklyn were on the RED team.
I'd like to say the old people pulled through and kicked their trash...I'd like to,
but reality is they kicked ours. =D
For as long as I can remember Denise and I have had an unspoken rule/expectation--> If there is an air hockey table- we're playin'!
The score is always close, and I'll be the first to admit that Denise usually wins- with the help of my hand-eye coordination...that does NOT exist.
We already have plans to go back.
Wanna come with? :)

Birthday Fun
What a F-U-N day we all had today! The morning was a little out of sorts, but once we got into the partyin' mode- we were good to go. We managed to get the Escape decorated so that EVERYONE knew it was her birthday. We even managed to get a few honks and yells of birthday wishes.
Brooklyn chose to go to Iceburg for lunch (Yummmmy shakes), and then it was off to one of our favorite places...Color Me Mine.
She painted a beautiful water pitcher a beautiful blue with sunflowers (her favorite flower). It will be done on Friday, and I am so excited to see how it looks fired!
The next stop was Boarders where I know Parker and I had a great time...perhaps we annoyed one or two people, but if you had heard his giggle- you wouldn't have cared one little bit either! (By the way- this is where I picked up the "cheese touch"- but not to worry, I managed to pass it along) =D
Next stop was to grab a gourmet candy apple, and then home to some fun decorative balloons and a bubble machine.
My stomach hurts because we laughed so much& my cheeks hurt from all the smiling!
All in all, I'd say that lets me know it was a GREAT way to spend the day.
...how DID I get so lucky?
Happy 14th Birthday Brooklyn!!
14 years ago today our family grew +1! Amanda Brooklyn Frisby was born...and we have not been the same sense. :)
Some of my Favorite stories of her growing up are:
1) when she was about 3 and potty training, she DID NOT want to wash her hands. Not sure why, but there you go. She walked out of the bathroom, and Grandma Kay asked, "Did you wash your hands?"
"Yes.."
Now, grandma Kay was not born yesterday, and knew she had not heard the water running. "You know, Jesus sees everything you do."
Booklyn stopped back into the bathroom mumbling..."That Jesus isn't a very nice man."
2) I took her to lunch once. She wanted McDonalds- I said no. We tried Barry's. She pulled her food out looked at the patty and informed me that her's was burnt. I told her that no, they are just the grill marks.. it makes them good, try it.
I then hear a little mumble from the back seat (not intended to reach my ears) "McDonalds makes a perfect cheeseburger."
3)From a very early age, B has been artistic. In fact people used to tell her this and she would go crying to Denise because she thought they were meaning she was AUtistic.
4)When she was in about 3rd grade her school sent home an invitation for her to join PALS... Brooklyn cried because she thought that she was not doing well in school, but actually she was so smart that they were inviting her to join an advanced group!
5)The day she got to announce that she was officially a published author! (this is something I am certain will happen again many times in the future) :)
B-
I LOVE that you are so creative, artistic, and amazingly kind hearted. You are going to change the world someday and I feel so blessed that for some unknown reason I have been given a front row seat in your life to watch it!
Never change, never give up, and never never forget how much you are loved!

It's Friday...I'm in love...
I have just added a new lens to my camera "gear" (LOL! I love that I now have my own gear!...silly, but, after all, isn't it good that such little things make me so happy? =D )
It is a shiny new 50mm f/1.8...and I love it. I think it just my become my go-to lens for detail work (which I so L-U-V), and maybe portraits of one or two people. The only problem is that it is a fixed 50mm, so there is no adjusting to get more or less in the picture by simply adjusting the dial..nope. Fiddys what you see and Fiddys what cha get.
Just LOOK at that shallow depth of field!
It's a thing of beauty, my friends.
Like I said...it takes so little to make me happy. :)
I happened to run into my sister and her kids while at the 4th of July Booth in Provo- My cute little niece (Boo) is such a princess. When we saw Belle, we just KNEW we had a to get a picture with her:
...I do wish I had had more control over where they were though- too much shadow on Belle's face and too much light on Boo's.... :)
